Proper Handling Tips

  • Weaver Leather Trimming Stands are made from high quality aluminum. Due to the normal physical properties of aluminum and its ability to bend and flex under stress, we recommend these trimming stands be used with animals weighing no more than 160-170 lbs.
  • Sheep or goats newly introduced to the confinement of a trimming stand will have a natural tendency to fight and resist restraint, which could cause the stand to bend or otherwise malfunction. We recommend sheep or goats be well-broke prior to introducing them to anyaluminum trimming stand.
  • Never leave animal unattended on trimming stand.

"This is the second headpiece bent by a Southdown lamb. I was replacing it with one that had been bent last year and on it's first use it was already bent. If you are only going to use it with light weight lambs it's fine. It needs to be made with a heavier gauge aluminum to work with heavier lambs."
