Tips for Clipping the Tailhead

In this video, Cattle ProStaffer Jon Gevelinger gives a few tips to remember when clipping the tailhead, especially if it's your first time. Use a T-84 blade on spots where you want to shear the hair all the way down to the surface, like the sides of the tail. Switch to a blocking blade when clipping. Use short strokes to shape the hair on the tailhead, making sure to look down the end of the blade so you know exactly where you’re clipping. One of the most important things to keep in mind when clipping the tailhead is making sure your calf's tail is positioned right and laying down against their butt the entire time.
