How To Clip a Show Lambs Head

It’s the final and often most frustrating step in the sheep shearing process: clipping the head. In this video, ProStaffer and show sheep expert Chad Charmasson demonstrates how to clip a lamb’s head effectively.

This process will be much easier if you use a sheep trimming stand to keep your lamb still. Chad recommends using an Andis® 5-speed clipper and Andis® medium blending blade to clip the head. Sheep can be intimidated by the loud noise of a larger clipper, so the small, quiet Andis® clippers are the best choice. The benefit of using an Andis® medium blending blade is that it doesn’t leave lines.
